Maybe it runs in our blood... |

...why else did we scurry from boat exhibition to boat exhibition after we met one another.
In the beginning dreams were simple: "how nice would it be, just we two on a boat sailing into the sunset".
But then we realized that if we only tried hard enough we would be able to fulfill this dream. 1973 when we were 24 and 25 years old we attended a sailing course on the island of Elba. At the same time we began to save money and to look around seriously after a first boat.

SPUMANTE
|
1975 we bought SPUMANTE a Sangria buildt by Jeanneau and sailed her on the lake of Zurich the following years. At that same time we made our Yacht masters certificates and started to charter boats in the Mediterranean. Soon the desire for our own boat on the sea became so strong that we sold SPUMANTE. The vendor of our new boat, SIESTA a Melody 34 also buildt by Jeanneau, offered us a free mooring for a year on the lake of Constance. He also organized (and paid) the boat christening ceremony! |
|
We then spent a nice summer on the lake and in the autumn 1979 we transported SIESTA to the south of France to Port Camargue. At home on the lake of Zurich we felt a little "boatless" and so for the Weekends back home Brigita bought herself another sailbot "PASTIS" a First 18 buildt by Beneteau.

PASTIS
|
For the entry in the swiss ships registry we had to change the name of SIESTA, because a yacht with the same name existed already. Now that was NOT GOOD AT ALL! Everyone knows that re-christening a boat brings bad luck. And so it was: the week after Easter the boat was stolen! That struck us hard because we had been able to organize a 3-month summer vacation that year. The money from the insurance came just in the right time. To save the vacation we acquired "ALBATROS" an Ocean 34 Cutter, built in Taiwan. |
|
During those three months we became acquainted with the pros and cons of a heavy Long-Keeler.
Despite everything we decided then to sell ALBATROS again and returned back to the lake of Zurich and to PASTIS.
Until one Day a good friend was selling his boat, on which we've been sailing quiet often.

TROPPO TARDI
|
We could not resist and 1986 "TROPPO TARDI" a Granada 27 had two new proud owners.
Due to an advertisement for a "Port au sec" in 1998 we decided to move TROPPO TARDI to the South of France onto a place on the hard.
With the islands of Hyères - a true dream region for a small yacht in only approx. 15 nautical miles distance - this "dry harbour" in the bay of Toulon turned out to be a real hit and we passed some phantastic summer-vacations there.

The dream of long-term sailing is not forgotten yet, and since 2005 we are writing new chapters of our sailing history with TI PUNCH.
